MAINTENANCE

The upkeep of your site is just as impotant as the site itself

ASK ME FOR ADVICE

Some important points that you should know about web design:

KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE

By knowing who you want to target, we can design a website that will work best for you.

CONTENT

Remember that I know nothing about your business.
You will be required to provide content for your website.

VISUALLY PLEASING

People are mostly visual beings so GOOD, if not GREAT images only, should be used on your website. Professionally taken or professional stock images are seriously recommended.

WRITTEN CORRECTLY

It’s important that your content be written in good, plain english. If you need help with this, a copywriter is recommended.

SEO:

SEO (search engine optimisation), ie: your google ranking, is important. I will set your basic SEO for you on your website but depending on your business, you may need to invest in an online marketing team.

The Quoting Process

Meet & Greet

Every website is different. And I know nothing about your business or its needs. We need to chat and I need to learn. Whether it be an online meeting or face to face I would love to meet you and discuss the best possible way forward for your website.

Estimate

I charge by the hour for the time that it takes me to design the best website for you. From our meet and greet I can build a fair estimate. It all depends on the amount of work involved.

Payments

Payments are structured as so: [depending on the size of the site] but for regular sites:

  • 50% up front
  • 50% on completion

Maintenance

Once a website is completed it requires maintenance in the form of upgrades. Upgrades to WordPress and other various plugins are released all the time. If you don’t keep your site updated regulary it will become vunerable to hacker attacks. YOU DON’T WANT THIS!

You can decide to maintain your site yourself or speak to me about maintaining it for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

If any of your questions are not answered in these points please feel free to contact me to get answers.

How much will a website cost?

That is a very broad question. In order to answer this correctly for you, I will need to ask you some questions to find out exactly what it is that you need.

What is a host?

A host is a company that houses your domain name (www) and email on thier very large servers. They usually charge you an annual fee for housing, or “hosting” your domain name and a monthly fee for hosting your website content.

Does AdiW host websites?

No, I do not. I prefer my clients to have their own accounts with large hosting companies and thus have complete control over their own website.

If you put SEO on my website will I appear on page one in Google.

The short answer is no. SEO is very complicated and an art on it’s own. Think about building a restaurant: If you don’t tell anyone that it’s there, then no one is going to come and eat. Google ranks your website according to how much traffic you can get to come, vist and stay for a while. There are many ways to do this but it requires much work from the website owner. Ask me how!

Will you just do it for me?

I would love to be able to just roll with it and design the whole website for you but unfortunately, because I know nothing about your business, you are going to have to help me. Good content is important. The more involved you get, the better your website will be!
